Join Debbie Caffrey for an intimate (only twelve quilters) long weekend of learning, quilting, and great food, at Aliento B & B, just two miles from her home in New Mexico. Aliento B & B is twenty minutes south of Santa Fe, less than an hour north of the Albuquerque International Airport.

The dates for this year’s retreats are February 16-19, 2007, September 20-23, 2007, and October 4-7, 2007. The February retreat runs from Friday evening, with check-in beginning at 5:00 pm, through Monday morning (President’s Day) with check-out at 10:00 am, followed by brunch at the Caffrey’s. The fall retreats run from Thursday evening, with check-in beginning at 5:00 pm, through Sunday morning with check-out at 10:00 am, followed by brunch at the Caffrey’s.

Aliento is an old adobe house with five sleeping rooms/suites, each with its own bathroom. In addition to the sleeping quarters, there is a large classroom space, a main area (living/dining room and kitchen), and an outdoor courtyard. It is in the country, so you will have no distractions except for an occasional coyote howl. Rooms will accommodate one to three quilters in a variety of sleeping arrangements (beds, futons, and sleeper sofas). No one will have to share a bed, but rooms will be shared with another quilter or two.

Meals are catered by Debbie and her husband Dan. Dan has been known to tell others that Debbie is a better cook than quilter. You will have more food than you can possibly eat! Dinner on the first night and breakfasts and lunches will be at the B & B. Dinners the other two evenings will be at Debbie’s home, allowing for quilters to relax, enjoy the view and food, take a tour of Debbie’s studio, and even shop (books, patterns, tools, kits, fat quarters, and lots of fabric on bolts).
There will be no standing in long lines for meals, hauling supplies and machines from point to point, or going to another building for showers.

This is your chance to be "in the studio" with Debbie Caffrey. Learn from her instruction, watch how she works, and ask questions. There are scheduled classes as well as plenty of time to sew on your projects. This is your retreat. Plan to use it in a way that will refresh and inspire you.

The cost of the retreat is $395. This includes the three nights lodging, all meals, and all classes/instruction.
