Join Debbie Caffrey for a long weekend of learning and quilting in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The dates for the two retreats are Thursday, September 11, through Sunday, September 14, 2008 and Thursday, September 25, through Sunday, September 28, 2008. The retreat will be on the campus of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Retreat Center, within walking distance of Museum Hill and a short two mile distance from the Plaza and the galleries of Canyon Road. This facility hosts many workshops, most notably, The Santa Fe Workshops (photography) and other art workshops, such as the ones taught by Paula M. Roland.

Lodging is double occupancy, two single beds per room. Rooms are spacious. There is space for thirty quilters. Conveniently, all sleeping rooms, the classroom, and the dining hall are in the same building. You will be able to sew at all hours of the day and night! One note of importance: the classroom and dining hall are on the main level, but the sleeping rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator. We will have someone to help carry luggage, but you must be able to negotiate the stairs once or twice a day.

Meals are catered by Duke City Gourmet. I hear from the facility administrators that they do very good meals, and they are willing to accommodate special diets.

A small vendor space will be in the building. There you can find Debbie’s books, patterns, kits, fabric bundles, and the tools that she uses. If you need more supplies than what you brought or find here, take a short road trip to our local quilt shop, Santa Fe Quilting.

This is your chance to be "in the studio" with Debbie Caffrey. Learn from her instruction, watch how she works, and ask questions. There are scheduled classes as well as time to sew on your projects. This is your retreat. Plan to use it in a way that will refresh and inspire you.

The cost of the retreat is $525, plus sales tax. This includes the three nights lodging, eight meals, and all classes/instruction.
